Foot Fetish? PA Foot Doctor Being Prosecuted For Getting Handsy With Patient

Perhaps it all started with a handsy doctor with a foot fetish, but now the Pennsylvania doctor is being prosecuted by the state’s attorney general, according to a release by his office.

Dr. Matthew James Sabo, 48, of Chicora, Butler County, has been charged with two counts of engaging in sexual conduct and two counts of indecent assault, according to his updated court docket.

The victim first reported that she had been a patient of Sabo’s for many years due to a severe injury to her foot in 2003 but in beginning in 2017, he started inappropriately hugging her and touching her breasts during her exams, according to a release but the AG.

The unwanted touches happened at the Foot and Ankle Wellness Center of Western Pennsylvania office in Ford City, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police in Kittanning, Armstrong County at the time of his arrest on Jan. 28, 2022.

The podiatrist has offices in Ford City, Grove City, Butler, Moon Township, and Monaca, according to his website.

“Dr. Sabo used his position of authority and power to inappropriately grope a female patient for years during her routine visits,” Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro said in a statement on Tuesday, Feb. 8. “As Attorney General, I have a responsibility to stand up for people who need a voice in our Commonwealth, and my Office will seek justice for any victims who come forward.”

Sabo has has been held in the Armstrong County Prison in lieu of $15,000 in bail, according to his court docket.

He preliminary hearing has been scheduled with Magisterial District Judge J. Gary Decomo on Mar. 22, at 9 a.m., according to the docket.
